Ammonite by Alexander Griffin

Alexander Griffin works from his Cambridgeshire studio. He creates beautiful plaster casts from objects selected for their architectural and sculptural qualities, and for their rarity or uniqueness.

Plaster relief cast of a fossilised Ammonite (the pre-historic molluscs which died out at the end of the Cretaceous period). So named for their apparent resemblance to Rams’ horns, worn by the Egyptian God – Ammon.

Cast directly from a four million year old fossil.
