Cáit is an illustrator and maker based in Leeds. She interested in storytelling, folklore, folk art and wonky things. She enjoys working with her hands and analogue materials, the work she is influenced by is that of which she can see the hand of the maker, which is why her work is often playful. Recently Cáit’s illustration practice has evolved to include textile work in the form of wall hangings. Her interest in textiles and the shape based approach she takes to making her wall hangings has changed the way she now approaches her illustration work. This series of orginial drawings and collages is inspired by that new simplified way of working and new influences from the textile world such as quilts, weavings and rugs. It has been made exclusively for IOTA.
