Antique Suzani Runner – Hand Embroidered in Silk

This is an authentic antique Suzani panel from Central Asia, featuring intricate hand-guided chain-stitch embroidery executed in fine silk threads over a natural cotton backing.

The composition is built around a vertical, mirrored vine motif climbing up the center, flanked by stylized paisley shapes and large flower heads. The entire field is enclosed by a repeating floral-head border. The natural, organic dyes have settled into a soft, muted palette over time, showing the tonal variations characteristic of genuine historical textiles.

Suzanis were traditionally handmade by family members as symbolic textile art for dowries and celebrations. Given its vertical orientation and rich texture, this piece functions exceptionally well as a decorative wall hanging, but it can also be adapted as a runner for furniture.

100% silk thread embroidery on a hand-woven cotton base.
