Antique Forged Iron “Rat de Cave” Spiral Candle Holder

An authentic, late 19th or early 20th-century French “rat de cave” (cellar rat) candle holder. Historically used by winemakers to navigate dark wine cellars, this piece features a classic hand-forged iron spiral body set into a turned wooden base.

The integrated thumb-lever allows you to manually adjust the height of the candle as it burns down, a functional design element typical of the period.
