This antique Chinese “Kitchen Ming” Swatow porcelain charger bowl, dating to the late Ming Dynasty (17th century), features characteristic underglaze blue folk art decoration from the Zhangzhou kilns. The interior rim displays alternating hand-painted floral motifs and stamp-printed “basket” cartouches, centering a handwritten calligraphic character. True to authentic provincial export wares of this period, the bowl retains a prominent, wide unglazed ring in the center left raw for stacking in the kiln during firing, along with typical irregularities such as grit adhered to the base, iron spots, and organic surface wear consistent with historical age.
