This piece was originally acquired from the specialist antique dealer IOTA, with the history passed down that the textile is a 17th-century tapestry fragment. It has been mounted and housed in a Georgian-period gilded wooden frame. The frame displays a deeply recessed profile, showcasing an authentic, weathered patina with visible wear, minor losses to the gilding, and stable cracking consistent with its considerable age.
