An exceptional 19th-century European floral still life oil painting on a hand-planed wooden panel, preserved in its original ornate gold-gilded moulded frame. The composition features a moody, atmospheric bouquet of vibrant red, pink, and white blossoms emerging from a glass vase against a dark ground, executed with a classic chiaroscuro sensitivity that brings luminescence to the petals. A faint artist’s signature is present in the lower-right corner of the canvas panel. The reverse side reveals an authentic period construction, with the original warm wood patina intact and the panel securely held by traditional hand-driven metal brads.
